State Parties Officially Certify Results from March 3 and July 14

Wednesday, July 29, 2020 – MONTGOMERY – Today, Secretary of State John H. Merrill released the certified candidates who were nominated in the Primary or Primary Runoff Election, excluding the official nomination of President and Vice President which will be certified to our office following the political party conventions.

The certification of candidates can be found here.

“Thanks to the tireless work of our local election officials across the state, we had a safe and successful election on July 14,” stated Secretary Merrill. “Probate Judges, county commissions, circuit clerks, and sheriffs were tasked with identifying the items necessary to protect voters, poll workers, and others involved in the elections process, and because of their dedicated efforts, we recently witnessed record turnout during a Primary Runoff Election.”

Sample ballots will be prepared following the final certification of candidates to county probate offices.

“I look forward to continuing our joint efforts as we prepare for the successful administration of the November 3 General Election. During this time, it is of utmost importance that we remain committed to working together to meet the needs of Alabama voters,” concluded Merrill.
