Shelby Cosponsors Resolution Commending Successful Mission to Eliminate Soleimani

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) became an original cosponsor of a resolution honoring the members of the Armed Forces and the intelligence community who carried out the successful mission to eliminate Qasem Soleimani, terrorist leader of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force (IRGC-QF).  The resolution also commends President Trump for ordering the operation to eliminate Soleimani.  There were 42 original cosponsors that joined this resolution.

“Qasem Soleimani was a dangerous terrorist responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Americans,” said Senator Shelby.  “I am proud to have cosponsored a resolution commending brave members of our military and intelligence community for their role in ending his terrorist reign, protecting countless American lives and our national security assets.”

A copy of the resolution is available here.
